We’ve released version 1.3.3 of Zibian Labs Handwriting Examination, focused on making document processing and project work easier to manage.
This update improves OCR (Optical Character Recognition) quality, with better support for German documents, and refines the document processing workflow by making configuration options more intuitive. To enhance recognition accuracy, we launched a campaign to collect handwritten samples from German volunteers. This helped improve the OCR model’s accuracy from 55.6% to 96.5%, making it significantly more reliable for German handwritten documents.

On that note, many thanks to the Forensic Institute Zurich in Switzerland and the Red Cross’ Cafeteria Solverino that let our team collect German handwriting samples.
Query management has also been expanded. Users can now save and retrieve queries, work with multiple queries in the same project, and show or hide project queries directly from the interface while easily exporting them in a report. This feature allows you to make complex document analysis clearer and easier to navigate.
The update also introduces better project and document handling, including an internal database of documents and projects, clearer report generation feedback, and new options for saving document changes.
