The Importance of Dental Identification In Perú

THE EVENT

Dental identification is part of the broad circuit of Human Identification. The methods used by experts are based on the premise that no two individuals have the same dental characteristics. 

In this online event in Spanish, Dr. Ymelda presents how Human Identification works in Perú and how the process is carried out in an interdisciplinary team.  One of these teams, an identification council, compares the information of the missing persons that the relatives provide in the investigation with the information of the unidentified individuals.

Ymelda Wendy Velezmoro, Ph.D.

Ymelda Wendy is a Registered Dental Surgeon, Specialist in Forensic Dentistry, and Doctor in Public Management and Governance. She also holds a Diploma in Medical Management and Legal Standards and a Diploma in Forensic Medicine and Forensic Sciences.

She has been working since 2018 as the National Coordinator of Forensic Dentistry at the Universidad Particular Científica del Sur and has been the National Director of the Forensic Disaster Response System since 2023.
