IACI 2024 CONGRESS
This year, Panacea had the honor of organizing the IACI 2024 Conference in collaboration with members of the International Association for Craniofacial Identification and the University of Granada. This year’s event focused on advancements in AI for the application of Craniofacial Identification techniques in human identification. Here’s a brief summary of what took place in Granada during the first week of October.
The Congress started with workshops on Wednesday and Thursday, where attendees had the opportunity to learn from experts from UGR, Panacea, and collaborators about topics such as Machine Learning, R programming, Forensic Facial Comparison, Craniofacial Superimposition, and 3D scanning applied to human identification. In addition, those interested had the opportunity to visit the Faculty of Medicine and the AI building at the University of Granada
On Friday and Saturday, both online and in-person participants enjoyed insightful presentations and posters from international experts in the field. Most of the material shared during the conference is now available online for all attendees.
DINNER AND VISITS
Finally, participants attended the Gala Dinner at the Carmen Aben Humeya restaurant, an enchanting venue offering breathtaking views of the Alhambra.
On Sunday, after a few incredible days filled with shared knowledge and scientific advancements, a lucky group of attendees had the chance to visit the Alhambra, the Royal Chapel, and Granada Cathedral. It was a perfect day for farewells, passing the torch to the next host city for the upcoming IACI 2026 Conference.
From all of us at Panacea, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to both our in-person attendees, for making the effort to come to Granada, and our online participants, for their patience and understanding during the occasional transmission issues. It was truly an extraordinary conference. See you at the next one!
