Solutions to the Age Estimation Challenge of Minors in the EU

Published on February 1, 2024

THE EVENT

One of the greatest challenges at European borders is the estimation of the legal age of minors. In this context, the need for objective, accurate, and reproducible methodology is essential to ensure a reliable process that respects the rights of minors.

In this event, we present the results of the UMAFAE project, during which we have developed highly accurate automatic methods for estimating legal age using Artificial Intelligence. We also present a working prototype.
